Last night I finally watched Black Swan. This movie was amazing in many ways. The imagery and symbolism run so deep I feel I need to watch it again to pick up on pieces that I missed. In some ways you become attached to Nina and feel her pain as she struggles to fill the role of the Black Swan. She becomes completely encompassed in these roles to the point where she loses herself and becomes the black swan. Prior to this transformation we see a sexually confused woman who struggles with her self –identity, which in turn affects her relationships with men, woman, and family. Her fragile mind is perfectly captured in the body of an aspiring dancer whose life focus is perfection. This psychological thriller is moving, artful and mesmerizing. You will walk away pondering over Nina and the layers of psyche that are peeled away during the film.

Did you see Black Swan? I would love to hear your thoughts on the film!

  1. Me and my boyfriend saw it in theaters and when we left the first thing we said to each other was "well that was eff-ed up" hahaha

Other than it being very freaky. I do agree that it really is a suspenseful, psychological thriller. Natalie Portman did a wonderful job fulfilling the role.
