I thought this week was going to slow down, but I think I'm coming to terms with the fact that every week is just busy these days. Between three children, the husband, the jewelry, the blog, the restaurant and everything else I'm forever indebted to a busy schedule. Oh, and speaking of the jewelry, I've decided to continue the 50% off sale through the month of September. I still have a few more pieces to add to my shop, and just haven't had the time to get it done. They will be up this weekend....hopefully.

Even though this life of mine is nonstop it's so important to stop and enjoy the little things. If you don't take that moment, if you don't slow down, if you don't just breathe then you're missing out on moments of happiness. You're letting that stress creep into your mind and take over your thoughts.
So stop. breathe. and enjoy the little things.

These little things made my week:
riding bikes with the boys, listening to music on the back porch, taking a hot bubble bath with my Vogue and glass of wine, baking pumpkin spice cookies, watching Jess take her first steps, driving around looking at old homes with Jon, an afternoon coffee date, shopping for an hour by myself, watching a live webcast of Phish with friends, hanging out with my sister, and hopefully a movie (Nowhere Boy) tonight while Jon works.

What are the little things that made your week?

  4. Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for popping over to my post today! I can't imagine how busy life is for you. I don't have kids yet, and I usually feel swamped just from working at my 'real job', trying to start my jewelry business, and be a good wife. Pumpkin spice cookies sound divine, by the way!

I'm jealous you got to unwind in a bathtub with wine. Sounds like a perfect night! I miss having a bathtub haha. Oh the little things ;)

  7. You are so right, Liz....the little things make us realize that the stress and confusion is the only thing going on in our lives.

Honestly, I'm not too hot lately...but there are those little things around like you said...for me it's been good food, church, my brother playing the keyboard in the hallway, being attacked by stuffed animals while napping, and just having a good/bad day because that's the way it had to be.

  10. What sweet pictures of your daughter. Life has been really busy for us too, but the transition to fall has been such a great reminder of changing seasons, that that the busy schedules don't last forever.

  12. Oh! You make jewellery, how cool - one of my best friends does too and I'm forever inspired - I can cook but am otherwise rather unhandy with my hands...
