reaching out.

Back in February we hosted The 5th Annual Guest Sommelier Night at our restaurant. In addition to a wonderful evening of great food and wine, this unique fundraiser provided direct support to Stark County Task Force, an organization that fights hunger in our community.

In four years the proceeds from the Guest Sommelier Night at Benders Restaurant have generated 210,000 lbs. of food for needy families here in Stark County. Once again, this year was a great success! As always, the generosity of our customers and their willingness to help others in the community is inspiring.
We are so pleased to be a part of this event.

Guests were delighted with great food and wine! The menu consisted of favorite small plates such as Oyster's Rockefeller, Tuna tartar, Beef Carpaccio, Seared Hudson Valley Foie Gras (always a favorite to be paired with a glass of sauternes). Entrees that Chef Carl Falcone featured included Stuffed Quail, New Zealand Rack of Lamb, Braised Eastern Halibut Provencal and many more!

This evening was about raising money for the Stark County Hunger Task Force. Dr. Michael Linz started this concept in collaboration with Bender's to create a night where guests could enjoy great food and wine while raising money for such an important non-profit organization in our community.

Speaking of reaching out, do you have a certain organization that is dear to your heart? Do you reach out to your community in any way? I would love it if you stopped by my friend Drea's blog and checked out her dedication for The Ride For Kids. This organization supports The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to The PBTF, to aid in medical research, to find a cause and cure for brain tumors, to help families affected, and even, for college scholarships of brain tumor survivors. What another great cause to support!
