There is a summer tradition that we have started, our yearly trip to my sister and brother in law's house for strawberry picking season. Today, under a June sun, summer has officially walked our way. I no longer have to dream of strawberry scones, of homemade strawberry (non dairy) ice cream, warm berry jam or strawberry crepes. My night was spent hulling and freezing strawberries, and because I don't have a kitchen I spent this time in the bathroom while the children ran the hallways and played tag in the yard.

I have good news my friends. Very good news. Next week our counter tops are being installed which means we will finally have a kitchen sink! We have gone seven weeks without a kitchen sink and I can't wait to get my hands in that kitchen and cook. I'm eager to try new recipes and those strawberries are waiting to be prepared. There are moments when I consider breaking my dairy free rule and this recipe would be one of them.

Changing the subject, I've had some thoughts on my mind. First, I notice that when I am on this blog in yahoo versus Firefox or Safari the spacing is a bit different. Is it that way for you too? I'm trying to keep the look consistent, but at the same time haven't really figured out this html thing. I would love to hear your input. And, along the same lines, I'm thinking of changing up the look a bit. What are your thoughts? Maybe new banner and simplify the sidebar? I love love the graphics, but I'm a woman of change and I feel it may be time for a change.

Enjoy your weekend. Tomorrow it's an 11 mile run for me, dinner with my mother in law and sister in law and Sunday brings another family dinner to celebrate my Aunt's birthday.

  1. I love strawberries! You know what's yummy? Dip them in sour cream and then roll them in brown sugar. SO DELISH.

    Congrats on the countertop! :)

  2. I'm so jealous of not only your gorgeous weather but those amazing looking berries too! We have blueberries out behind our cabin and I can't wait to take Dallas picking for some so we can overload ourselves on blueberry everything ;)

Yay for the counter tops! I couldn't imagine being without a kitchen sink for so long!

I don't know much of anything when it comes to issues with different browsers but hopefully you can get it figured out.
