going gluten free.

Well, I've decided to take the plunge. For many weeks I have been considering going gluten free for a short period of time and today is the day. Ever since college I have been dealing with stomach issues and I am determined to put an end to it. Yes, I have been to the doctor. I have had some tests. I do not have Celiac Disease, but I am convinced it is something I am eating. Since I don't eat dairy I know that is not the culprit. So, I will go two weeks without gluten as a test. Are you gluten free? Do you have any tips? Recipes? Please share!

The first and second pictures above are from lunch with my friend (in our backyard). Grilled free range chicken, pickled red onions, arugula and radishes over corn tortillas. Followed by banana bread and coffee for dessert. Oh boy, am I going to miss those breads! It's time to experiment with new recipes.

  1. So awesome that you have decided do go gluten free.!! I have been totally gf since early 2008 and it has totally transformed my health and there is no way I would touch gluten ever again. It seems daunting at first but once you get the hang of it you will love this way of eating as there are just so many great options. I have lots of tips and recipes on my blog if you wanna take a look.

  6. I have been gluten free for almost 3 years, after many stomach issues that doctors couldn't seem to diagnose. It was tough at first but there are SUCH great alternatives now! My favorite for bread is a brand called Against The Grain (baguettes and pizza crusts in the frozen section). And if you have a sweet tooth, Betty Crocker's gluten free cake mixes are excellent! I could go on and on.... if you ever need tips feel free to message me. Good luck!
