CLOSED and she danced + Matilda Jane Giveaway!

On chilly winter days, when the boys are away at school, we like to turn on the music. We carefully choose our record, each day brings a different feel, and gently place it on the turn table. As the music slowly fills our kitchen, and trickles into the great room, our feet begin to move. Slow at first, then as the rhythm moves we begin to dance. We whirl and twirl under the warmth of our home and watch our thoughts leap into the air.

This dancing tradition has become a favorite mother daughter time of mine. It has reminded me that it's okay to let loose, to let your body go free, to live in the moment. It has shown me that sometimes we really should seek our inner child and that we can truly relate with a three year old.

Jess is wearing a Turtledove Knot Top, Stippling Tee and Gallery Leggings from Matilda Jane.

All Matilda Jane pieces are made to mix and match, which is great for our lifestyle. The look is a little bit shabby chic and a little bit bohemian and the perfect style for any occasion. I have been a fan of Matilda Jane clothing since before Jessica was born and love the styles they offer for children and women.

Giveaway ends Monday at 10:00am.
Winner will be announced shortly after.

sidenote: As I started to edit these photos, I caught myself editing the boo boo's, or the scratches, on Jess' face. And then I thought, what on earth am I doing?? So what! Jess went sled riding with her brothers and completely wiped out, there is no shame in that and I certainly don't need to "cover up" this real part of childhood.

  26. You gotta give a pat on the back to the entire Matilda Jane team for producing beautiful, AGE-APPROPRIATE clothing! I have neevr looked through the catalog and got that creepy "Jon Benet" feeling I do when I see some items marketed towards young girls! Kudo to MJ and you for caring about modest, but still funky awesome, stuff! I absolutely love the Molly Cardigan (adults) and the Sidewalk Chalk Peasant Top for the kiddos! (I like and follow on Twitter and in real life lol)
