A single photo once a week.
To capture my emotions, to sum up the days.
To collect my thoughts and hold them in my hands.
Every Sunday, one photo.
On this Sunday: The deer whisperers.
If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that we have a family of deer that are bedding down in the woods behind our house. We're finding that we see them daily and the three small fawn love to run and play in our backyard. Often times, we find them laying beneath our trees in the front. It has been a wonderful experience sharing our space with these amazing creatures.
This picture was taken with my iphone and edited with a VSCO preset.
“Ask for no guarantees, ask for no security, there never was such an animal.
And if there were, it would be related to the great sloth which hangs upside down in a tree all day every day,
sleeping it's life away.
To hell with that," he said, "shake the tree and knock the great sloth down on his ass.”
― Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

Happy Saturday friends! It's a good and busy one over here. As I type Jon is running around the house, Jonas and Josh are playing and Jess is "packing" her backpack. Bailey is nervously pacing the floors of our home because he can sense something is going on. He can feel vacation in the air.
Enjoy your day!
A backyard birthday bash. A jump house filled with giggling children. Pizza, snow cones and a chocolate cake topped off with white chocolate icing. Superhero masks and capes flying in air as little feet ran. Squirt guns. Dusk settling in over our day. Glow sticks. Dance parties. Sleep overs.
It's all about celebrating the birthday.
It was a good party, Joshua. Filled with friends and family.
You are one loved little guy.
You make my soul smile.
You are a light in my life.
There are moments in life when you are able to capture pure happiness. A glimpse of joy, the sound of real laughter that starts in the heart or eyes that seem to sparkle. There is nothing more special than dedicating a day to your child's birthday. Setting aside everything on your list to offer your undivided attention. To listen to every word and help with every action. I strive to make birthdays unique, to have those special days shine. I want to catch that glimpse of joy, hear real laughter and see eyes sparkle.
On your birthday Joshua, I saw you brimming with happiness. Your laughter was the music in our day and it continued on until the evening. Your eyes were lit up with love and bliss. Your heart was happy and I knew my job was done.
These are our pictures from the day.

Jonas: His hair smells of pool water and his skin glows slightly with sun.
Joshua: My superhero, with traces of pizza on his mouth and shirt.
Jessica: Possibly the happiest child alive.
