{ Gray Room }

Gray Room

Although you sit in a room that is gray,
Except for the silver
Of the straw-paper,
And pick
At your pale white gown;
Or lift one of the green beads
Of your necklace,
To let it fall;
Or gaze at your green fan
Printed with the red branches of a red willow;
Or, with one finger,
Move the leaf in the bowl--
The leaf that has fallen from the branches of the forsythia
Beside you...
What is all this?
I know how furiously your heart is beating.

{ inspired by nature }

One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.
William ShakespeareI believe in God, only I spell it Nature.
Frank Lloyd Wright, quoted, 14 August 1966

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.
Albert Einstein
A sensitive plant in a garden grew,
And the young winds fed it with silver dew,
And it opened its fan-like leaves to the light,
and closed them beneath the kisses of night.
Percy Bysshe Shelley, "The Sensitive Plant," 1820

I'll tell you how the sun rose a ribbon at a time.
Emily Dickinson

I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.
John Burroughs
Any man that walks the mead
In bud, or blade, or bloom, may find
A meaning suited to his mind.
Alfred Tennyson
How cunningly nature hides every wrinkle of her inconceivable antiquity under roses and violets and morning dew!
Ralph Waldo Emerson

In the sky
an infinitude of hope,
a canvas of glory
all possibilities mine.
Neroli Lambent

I took all these photos on a family walk through the woods. It was a clear fall day and I was feeling inspired by the small pieces of beauty that nature offers.
I can't wait to capture more fall images!
