just some randomness.

I think Jess is onto something here.
Dressing up, throwing on your super hero costume, fastening your cape and taking off into thin air.
It's been a whirl wind week here and I've spent much of it running in circles. I honestly thought I had a whole week of nothing on the calendar, but I'm learning that never happens.

So school ended and we were thrown into summer at full force.

But I'm finding that it's okay. I'm also finding that this summer will certainly be different than the others. No more days of lounging in jammies, watching cartoons into the late morning, moving at our own pace. Swim team has us up and at the pool five days a week, and secretly I don't mind. Jess and I take that time to enjoy a run and then spend one on one time together. Even a dedicated half hour makes such a difference.

Jonas tried out for the Canton United Soccer Club this week and I have never seen him work harder. Two hours of intense training on Monday and Tuesday night was enough to exhaust all of us. It's such a nail biting experience for the parent. I want so much for my children and I would never ever pressure them into anything. Jonas loves soccer and he is good. After going to this particular event we feel he certainly needs some foot skills practice, and if he wants to dedicate his time to that we will support him.

Did I mention this league is a traveling team? Just another huge commitment in our lives. Does anyone have experience in this arena? I would love some input.

I was able to slip away for the day yesterday. Thank you Jon for the best birthday gift ever. He took the kids to swim and I headed up to Cleveland. Since it was a rainy day I decided to roam around the mall, something I haven't done in years. I didn't find a bathing suit, the one item I actually needed, but I did find plenty of other goodies. I enjoyed a quiet lunch by myself, a latte while walking around Anthropologie and I finished the day with a stop at Trader Joes. It was a good day. Especially when you come home to your wonderful family and enjoy an awesome dinner together.

Our swim meet was canceled tonight (yes, yes) so the kids and I are going to celebrate National Donut Day with a movie and some sweet treats. A rare occasion in our house, but sometimes it's okay to say yes. I don't know what's going on with me, but I am so exhausted this week. I haven't worked out in three days and I just can't seem to find the motivation today. I have a million (a bit of an exaggeration) emails to catch up on, a couple deadlines and packages to mail out.

I guess I better get moving.
After an afternoon coffee that is.

I hope you enjoy your weekend.
Don't forget, I have a great Bella Bare Wear Giveaway going on until Monday night. Click here to enter.
